BIOGRAPHY

I am a 4th generation Seattleite living and working in the Pacific Northwest.

I've always felt my plein air work has been a meditation on the passage of time. From sun up to sun down, the fleeting angles of light cast upon everyday objects, environments, vast or intimate, spaces and places, seen once or again and again.

For each moment experienced, I hope to capture something of the essence, the exaltation, the sensation of having laid eyes on the subject of my work. Time passes and these images may change and evolve despite remaining static paint on canvas. Every piece a love letter to a time and place to persist long after I'm gone.

There's a wonder in not knowing how these paintings will be perceived now and in the future, who will view them however many years from now, what these individuals will discern from my efforts to speak of personal truth. The attempt in itself is a statement, more than I could say in words.
